Day-by-day plan for 9N/10D Ladakh

1 Arrival – Jammu to Srinagar

Plan:

This day is for acclimatization, leisure and final preparations. Rest well.

Stay:

Overnight at Srinagar

2 Srinagar to Kargil via Sonmarg (202 km / ~7 hrs)

Drive & visit:

Check out after breakfast and drive to Kargil via Sonmarg. Enroute: Namika-la, Mulbekh Chamba statue, Lamayuru Monastery, Kargil War Museum and Zoji'la Pass (time permitting).

Stay:

Overnight at Kargil

3 Kargil to Leh (217 km / ~7.5 hrs)

Visit:

Drive to Leh via Lamayuru Monastery and Alchi Monastery. Explore the 1000-year-old frescoes and ancient art.

Stay:

Overnight at Shey/Leh

4 Leh Local Sightseeing

Explore:

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Indus–Zanskar confluence, Hall of Fame, Spituk Monastery, Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. Evening at local market.

Stay:

Overnight at Shey/Leh

5 Shey/Leh to Hunder via Khardungla Pass (125 km / ~6 hrs)

Experience:

Drive via Khardungla Pass to Nubra Valley. Visit Diskit Monastery, dunes of Hunder, camel rides and activities.

Stay:

Overnight at Hunder/Deskit

6 Hunder/Deskit to Pangong Tso (165 km / ~6 hrs)

Plan:

Early departure for Pangong Lake. Enroute enjoy breathtaking scenery and the famous 3 Idiots point.

Stay:

Overnight near Pangong Tso (tent/camp)

7 Pangong Tso to Shey/Leh via Chang-la Pass (220 km / ~7 hrs)

En-route:

Return to Leh via Chang-la Pass. Visit Changla Baba Temple and spend the evening at the Leh market.

Stay:

Overnight at Shey/Leh

8 Leh to Kargil (overnight at Kargil)

Drive:

Drive back to Kargil for an overnight stay.

9 Kargil to Srinagar (local)

Plan:

Return to Srinagar and enjoy local sightseeing.

10 Drop at Jammu

Transfer:

After breakfast, drop at Jammu Airport. Farewell and end of the trip.
